In pharmaceutical and chemical production, the quality of glass-lined reactors is closely tied to production safety and efficiency. To ensure you receive a "safe reactor," thorough inspection during these three stages is crucial. Below is a simplified breakdown.
1. Arrival Inspection: Ensuring Transport Safety
Before unloading, inspect for any displacement, collision marks, or paint damage. Verify specifications and quantities against the shipping list, then sign and stamp for confirmation. If the transport condition is good, the glass-lined surface inside the reactor may not require inspection.
Handle attachments like agitators and temperature sleeves with care. Use a light to check for surface defects such as chipping or cracks, and perform a 7,000V spark test. For gear reducers and motors, focus on packaging wear. Mechanical seals can remain unopened if undamaged externally.
2.Pre-Installation Inspection: Detailed Internal and External Checks
Compare nozzle and lug dimensions with the design drawings. Open the manhole and use a flashlight to inspect the interior for scratches or debris. If issues are found, enter the reactor wearing soft-soled shoes for a detailed check. Seal all openings afterward to prevent contamination.
3.Post-Installation Inspection: Final Verification for Operational Safety
Inspect mechanical seals for scratches and use a level to verify agitator shaft verticality. Ensure all drive components meet installation standards. Note: No welding should be performed on the reactor exterior. Cover openings during nearby welding to prevent slag ingress.
When removing agitator braces, prevent bolts from falling into the reactor. Conduct visual and 7,000V spark tests on the glass-lined layer. Personnel entering the reactor must remove hard objects and wear soft-soled shoes.
Rigorous inspection at each step is a commitment to production safety. Only by thoroughly completing these three stages can the equipment be confidently put into service, honoring every trust placed in it.
