Current AffairsCleaning and Basic Protection
Use clean water or mild detergent to clean the rotor chamber and rotor. Avoid alkaline solutions and abrasive solvents. Keep the top cover open when the centrifuge is idle to keep the interior dry and reduce wear of motor bearings. Wipe out debris in the chamber with rags or tweezers in a timely manner. Take dedicated safety protective measures when handling toxic, radioactive and contaminated samples.
Daily Maintenance of Accessories
The centrifuge shall be well grounded and placed away from other electrical equipment. Check the circuit and grounding condition regularly. Do not expose the rotor and the whole machine to prolonged high temperature or intensive UV radiation. Only neutral detergent is allowed for cleaning. Fasten the rotor screws tightly after rotor replacement. Stop using centrifuge tubes that are discolored, deformed or leaking. Remove tube caps before high-temperature and high-pressure sterilization to prevent deformation, and follow the manual to control sterilization temperature. Lubricate rotor pins regularly to ensure smooth operation.
Condenser Maintenance
The air-cooled condenser is installed at the rear of the centrifuge to cool refrigerant. Regularly blow off dust on the condenser with compressed air. Dust accumulation will hinder heat transfer and shall be avoided.
Sterilization and Disinfection
Common disinfectants are applicable to the centrifuge and its accessories. Since the equipment is made of multiple materials, confirm the compatibility between disinfectants and materials before disinfection to prevent component corrosion.
Inspection of Core Components
Operators need to inspect key parts regularly. Make sure the motor is stably suspended, rotors and accessories are free from corrosion, the rotating shaft is not deflected, all screws are tightly connected and the grounding is in good condition. Deal with faults in a timely manner once found.
