Mission Recap: CZ-10B Makes Breakthrough in Reusable Rocket Technology

 

Developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, the CZ-10B adopts a 5-meter-diameter two-stage tandem configuration, with a total length of approximately 63 meters and a takeoff thrust of 890 tons.

 

  • First stage: Powered by LOX/kerosene propellant, designed for recovery and reuse
  • Second stage: Equipped with new-generation LOX/methane engines
  • Payload capacity: 16 tons to LEO in reusable configuration
  • Application scenarios: LEO satellite internet constellations, commercial satellite launches, deep space exploration

 

The successful sea-based net-capture recovery technology demonstrated in this mission significantly reduces the overall cost of space launches, accelerates the iteration of China’s rocket recovery technology, and lays a solid technical foundation for future manned lunar landing and deep space exploration programs.
